UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - After a two-game road swing, the #10/9 Penn State Lady Lions (17-4, 8-1 Big Ten) return to the Bryce Jordan Center to host Iowa (17-6, 5-4) on Thursday at 6 p.m. Fans that bring a new hat to benefit THON will receive a ticket for just $5. Thursday is also another Dollar Dog Night in the BJC.

LIMITED BAG POLICY: Penn State has implemented a limited bag policy at all home athletic events this season. One clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag per person will be permitted for medical needs, child care needs and general items as needed. Items that can fit in a pocket should remain in patrons' pockets (i.e. keys, cell phone, wallet, glasses, camera, sunscreen, lip balm, make-up). General items of this nature, including those that don't fit in patrons' pocket, can also be placed in a clear plastic one-gallon plastic bag. All clear bags will be inspected through the bag and article check stations as in prior years.
TV: The game will air on Big Ten Network with Kevin Lee and Brenda Van Lengen on the call. The game is also available on BTN2GO.
RADIO: The game is on the Penn State Sports Network and WRSC 1390 locally with Jerry Fisher and Julia Trogele calling the action. The audio feed is available at www.GoPSUsports.com.
LAST TIME OUT: The Lady Lions saw a 20-point first-half lead evaporate, but got five consecutive points from Talia East to take the lead for good and salt away the win from the free throw line as they held off Northwestern, 79-75, Sunday at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Maggie Lucas was a perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line and finished with a team-best 19 points to lead five Lady Lions in double figures. Ariel Edwards had a near double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds to go along with three assists and two steals. Freshman Peyton Whitted tallied a career-high 11 points on a 5-of-6 shooting performance with six rebounds in 13 minutes of action. East also reached double figures with 11 points with six rebounds and two assists as she battled foul trouble.
SCOUTING IOWA: The Hawkeyes are 17-6 on the season and 5-4 in Big Ten play, but are 5-2 in their last seven games after an 0-2 start to conference play. Iowa's potent offense is led by do-everything point guard Samantha Logic, who is second on the team in scoring (14.1), but leads the team in rebounding (6.5), assists (7.2) and steals (2.3). Bethany Doolittle has provided pop in the post with a team-best 14.2 scoring average with 3.3 blocks and 5.0 rebounds per game. Melissa Dixon (13.4 ppg), Ally Disterhoft (12.7) and Theairra Taylor (11.1) are also averaging double figures for the Hawkeyes. Dixon is Iowa's top long-range threat, connecting on 60 shots from behind the arc on the season.
ALL-TIME VERSUS THE HAWKEYES: The Lady Lions are 26-17 all-time against Iowa. PSU is 14-5 in games played in University Park, including wins in the last three meetings in the BJC. Penn State has won the last five contests against the Hawkeyes and seven of the last eight. The Lady Lions won the first meeting this season wit h an 87-71 decision over Iowa at Carver-Hawkeye Arena.
LAST TIME VERSUS IOWA: The Lady Lions landed five players in double figures as they won a hard-fought 87-71 win over #23/22 Iowa on Jan. 5. Senior guard Maggie Lucas paced the scoring effort with 27 points, while fellow senior Talia East notched her first career double-double with 10 points and 10 boards. Lucas had an interesting day with 11 points in the first six minutes of the game and then scored the other 16 points in the final seven minutes of the contest. East was 4-for-6 from the field and had a pair of old-fashioned three-point plays en route to her 10 points for her third double-digit output of the season. Senior Dara Taylor added 17 points, five rebounds, four assists and a pair of steals.
WHITTED WHIPS UP A CAREER SCORING EFFORT: Freshman guard/forward Peyton Whitted had the best offensive performance of her young career at Northwestern. She was 5-for-6 from the field en route to a career-high 11 points, which passes her previous personal best of nine points that came at Illinois on Jan. 9. Whitted also had six rebounds in just 13 minutes of play.
POLLING AROUND: The Lions rose three spots to a season-high 10th in the Feb. 4 USA Today Sports Coaches' Poll. Penn State climbed three positions in the Feb. 3 Associated Press Poll to a season-high ninth in the country.
The Lady Lions hit the road again to take on Ohio State on Sunday, a game that will air on ESPN2 at 2 p.m., before visiting Indiana on Thursday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m. Penn State is back home for the Eighth Annual Pink Zone game against Wisconsin on Sunday, Feb. 16 at 1 p.m. $4 of every single-game ticket sold will go directly to Pink Zone.
Lady Lion Basketball single-game tickets are available by calling 1-800-NITTANY. Single-game tickets are $15 and $12 for adults and seniors and $9 and $7 for youth (12 and younger). The PNC Flex Books are available again this year for $99. The Flex Book gives fans 12 vouchers, 10 that can be redeemed in any combination for Nittany Lion and Lady Lion Basketball tickets throughout the year and two extra vouchers for the Nittany Lions' Coaches Vs. Cancer game and the Lady Lions' Pink Zone game.
For the 15th time, Penn State will host the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament First and Second Rounds on March 23 and 25, 2014. All-session tickets are $30 for adults and $17 for youth and students. There is also an all-session group rate for groups of 20 or more of any age at $20 per package. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 1-800-NITTANY or visiting the Penn State athletics ticket office between the hours of 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
The 2014 Pink Zone at Penn State will take place on Sunday, Feb. 16 as the Lady Lions take on Wisconsin in the Bryce Jordan Center at 1 p.m. Last year, the Lady Lions donated a record $260,000 to breast cancer causes. This year's fundraising efforts will benefit the Mount Nittany Medical Center, Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute, Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, J.C.
