UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) and junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) are set to compete as individuals in the NCAA East Regional, hosted by Florida State University. The regional is being played at the par 72 Southwood Golf Club in Tallahassee, Fla.
The three-day tournament begins Thursday, May 8 and carries through Saturday, May 10. Tee times have been announced as the duo will both be teeing off at 8:40 a.m., with Vosters teeing off on the tenth hole and Ceresko starting from the first hole.
In the East Regional, there are 24 teams and six individuals vying to advance to the Championship round. The other individuals in the East Regional include Lori Beth Adams (UNC-Wilmington), Lacy Fears (Mercer), Kaew Preamucheun (Kennesaw State), and Abby Newton (Mississippi). The top eight teams and two individuals from each regional will advance. In total, there are 378 student-athletes that were selected to compete in one of the three regionals. The championship finals are set for May 20-23 at the Tulsa Country Club in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Last season at the NCAA East Regional, Ceresko tied for 60th as she finished nine strokes over par. Live scoring for the East Regional can be followed throughout the day on www.golfstat.com.
