UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State sophomores Brannon Kidder (Lancaster, Ohio) and Kiah Seymour (Washington, D.C.) earned Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week after outstanding performances over the weekend. Kidder broke a 27-year old school record and Seymour ran the top time in the nation en route to their awards.
Kidder's 3:38.82 in the 1500 meters at the Payton Jordan Invite broke a 27-year old school record in the event, previously held by Steve Balky. Kidder is just the second Nittany Lion ever under 3:39 in the event and his time leads the nation. The Big Ten weekly award is the second outdoor weekly honor of Kidder's career and first this season.

Seymour's run in the 400-meter hurdles was not only a first-place effort at the Kehoe Twilight Meet, but puts her first nationally in the event. Her time of 55.88 is second all-time in Penn State history. The Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honor is Seymour's first outdoor honor of her career.
The Nittany Lions next host the Jim Thorpe Invite on Friday, May 9 at 2 p.m. prior to the Big Ten Championships at Purdue on May 16-18.
