TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - With the second round of the NCAA East Regional completed, senior Christina Vosters (Bethany Beach, Del.) is tied for 55th out of 126 golfers. Vosters recorded a second round 75, bumping her total score to five strokes over par. Junior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) also posted a second round 75, putting her two round total to 151 strokes. Ceresko is seven strokes over par and is tied for 75th out of 126, moving up 12 spots from the first round.
"They just need to get more comfortable with the greens," said head coach Denise St. Pierre. "I beleive they both played steady, but just need to capatalize on our birdie opportunities. They are looking forward to playing tomorrow."
Vanderbilt leads the regional as the Commodores are ten strokes under par. Mariah Stackhouse (Stanford) is leading the individual portion as she is for strokes under par. The top two individuals not from the eight advancing teams will advance to the NCAA Championships May 20-23 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Through two rounds, Matilda Castren (Florida State) and Grace Na (Pepperdine) currently hold those spots as they both are tied at three strokes under par.
The third and final round of the NCAA East Regional takes place Saturday with tee times beginning at 7:45 a.m. Both Ceresko and Vosters are teeing off at 8:40 a.m. with Ceresko beginning on the 10th hole while Vosters will tee off from the 1st hole. Live scoring can be followed at www.golfstat.com.
