Penn State Ready To Take On Mid-Atl/Southern Regionals

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State Nittany Lions are gearing up to travel to North Carolina this weekend to attend the Mid-Atlantic/Southern NCAA Regional competition on March 7th, 2015. The team is preparing to compete at Duke University and those fencers who rank the highest this weekend will continue on to compete at the NCAA National Championship March 19th-22nd at Ohio State.

Those competing for the women this weekend are as followed:

Epee: Junior Jessica O'Neill-Lyublinsky (North Salem, N.Y.), sophomore Jessie Radanovich (Fresno, Calif.), and freshman Julia Higson (State College, Pa.).

Foil: Seniors Alina Antokhina (Moscow, Russia) and Kane Gladnick (Wynnewood, Pa.), junior Clarisse Luminet (Lyon, France), and sophomore Desree Ortega-Furgeson (Wyoming, Mich.).

Saber: Senior Elizabeth Rapp (Portland, Ore.), sophomore Teodora Kakhiani (Tbilisi, Georgia), and freshmen Kathryn Charpin (Setauket, N.Y.) and Karen Chang (Hong Kong).

Those competing for the men this weekend are as followed:

Epee: Juniors Farzaan Karimi (Medfield, Mass.) and Yasser Mahmoud (Quincy, Mass.), and sophomores Oscar Tang (Stockholm, Sweden) and Conor Shepard (Colleyville, Texas).

Foil: Juniors Nobuo Bravo (San Francisco, Calif.) and David Gomez-Tanamachi (Mexico City, Calif.), and sophomores Howie Chan (Hong Kong) and Nicolas Graziano (Brooklyn, N.Y.).

Saber: Junior Kaito Streets (Redwood City, Calif.), sophomore Adam Lewicki (Oakland, N.J.), and freshmen Andrew Mackiewicz (Westwood, Mass.) and Khalil Thompson (Teaneck, N.J.).
