LION CAREER:
AS A JUNIOR IN 2016-17: Mackiewicz had another competitive season as a Nittany Lion. Mackiewicz ended the regular season with a record of 42-19 which included four shutout performances. His record also qualified him to compete at the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals where he came in second place. At the NCAA Championships Mackiewicz finished in 7th place with 14 wins.
AS A SOPHOMORE 2015-16: Mackiewicz had another stellar season as a Nittany Lion. Mackiewicz ended the regular season with a record of 25-7 qualifying him to compete at the Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals where he came out on top with first place. At the NCAA Championships Mackiewicz took home first place and the title of 2016 NCAA Men’s Sabre Champion.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2014-15: Mackiewicz was a force to be reckoned with his first season as a Nittany Lion. In just his first three starts, Mackiewicz went 3-0. By the end of the season, Mackiewicz would tally nine total shutout performances. Mackiewicz ended the regular season with a stellar 32-8 record, propelling him into the NCAA Mid-Atlantic/Southern Regionals. Mackiewicz placed first at Regionals, qualifying him for the NCAA Championships. At the Championships, Mackiewicz was virtually unstoppable, taking home first place and securing the title of 2015 NCAA Men’s Sabre Champion.
HIGH SCHOOL/PERSONAL: Andrew Mackiewicz comes to Penn State from Westwood, Mass. He previously fenced for Zeta Fencing Club under head coach Zoran Tulum. Mackiewicz is majoring in marketing.
