Penn State Women's Golf Completes Gator Invitational

GAINESVILLE, FLA - The Penn State women's golf team completed its second tournament of the spring season Sunday. The Nittany Lions finished in a tie for 13th with a total of 944 (+104) strokes overall after shooting a 317 (+37) in the third and final round.

Senior Ellen Ceresko (Jefferson Township, Pa.) led the way for Penn State, carding a six-over par 76 on the final day of the competition. Ceresko's performance placed her tied for 41st as an individual for the tournament with a +23. Senior Catherine Hererra (Houston, Texas) finished the Gator Invitational strongl, registering a 79 to move her into a tie for 53rd place (+27). Also in a tie for 53rd was junior Elyse Archambault (St-Jean-sur-Rich, Quebec) who shot an 81 (+11) Sunday. Senior Katlyn Elliott (Peterborough, Ontario) grinded out an 81 (+11) on the day and finished tied for 72nd. Junior Grace Chung (Toronto, Ontario) rounded out the squad with an 82 (+12) in her final round, while junior Halley Morell (Brecksville, Ohio) played as an individual and carded an 85 (+15).

Arizona maintained their wire to wire victory on Sunday, finishing with 879 (+39) strokes for the tournament. Manon Gidaldi of Arizona edged out the competition by firing an even-par 70 to take home the individual honors.

The Nittany Lions are back in action at the Briar's Creek Invitational in Charleston, S.C. on March 23 and 24.
