Penn State-Buffalo Contest to Air on ESPN2

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State home opener against Buffalo at Beaver Stadium will air on ESPN2 at noon.

This will be the first meeting between Penn State and Buffalo since 2007 and second meeting overall. The Nittany Lions claimed a 45-24 win in 2007, while the Bulls claimed a 10-0 win in 1900. The 2007 game was the only home game for Penn State in the series.

The last time the teams met, Anthony Morelli when 20-for-27 for 202 yards and four touchdowns to lead Penn State to the 45-24 win. Andrew Quarless pulled in two touchdown catches, while Rodney Kinlaw ran for 129 yards and a score. The linebacker tandem of Dan Connor and Sean Lee registered 12 tackles apiece to lead the defensive effort.

Penn State suffered a season-opening loss at Temple Saturday. Redshirt senior Carl Nassib (West Chester, Pa.) had a career-high 10 tackles against the Owls. The Nittany Lions had 15.0 tackles for a loss against the Owls, which are the most since recording 15.0 TFLs at Michigan on Sept. 22, 2007. Sophomore wide receiver Chris Godwin (Middletown, Del.) caught five passes for 81 yards and now has at least one catch in 13 of 14 career games.
