DiSilvio Named Big Ten Cross Country Athlete of the Week

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State junior Ean DiSilvio (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was named Big Ten cross country Co-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday. This marks the first time in his career that DiSilvio has earned Big Ten weekly honors.

Making the winning move over the final 800-meters of the race, Ean DiSilvio won the Dolan Duals for the first time in his career as he ran the 6,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 41.74 seconds. The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. outlasted Lock Haven's Dylan Mountain to claim the individual title at Friday's Dolan Duals in Lock Haven, Pa. The junior from Pittsburgh, Pa. won the Dolan Duals for the first time in his career as he ran the 6,000-meter course in 17 minutes, 41.74 seconds, marking the No. 3 fastest time in course history. The Nittany Lions took the men's team title by a score of 19 to 41 over Lock Haven scoring four runners inside the top-five.

DiSilvio shares the weekly honors with Peter Spinks of Nebraska.

Penn State will host the Harry Groves Spikes Shoe Invitational Friday Sept. 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. for the women, followed by the men at 6:15 p.m.
