UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State women's hockey team continues its four-game homestand this weekend as the UConn Huskies make their first-ever trip to the Pegula Ice Arena. Puck drop is slated for Saturday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, Oct. 25, at 2 p.m.

WEEKEND PROMOTIONS
Penn State faculty & staff can pick up a $3 ticket for Sunday's game either online via GoPSUsports.com or at game-time Sunday.
Similar to last weekend, fans with a ticket stub from Friday night's men's hockey game can attend Saturday's game for two dollars. Also, fans with a ticket stub from Friday or Saturday's men's hockey game can attend Sunday's game for two dollars.
Sunday's game is a Family 4-Pack game. For $30, fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks.
Following Sunday's game, the Nittany Lions are hosting a post-game skate with the team.
BAG POLICY
Fans are reminded that bags may be subject to search upon entrance to the Pegula Ice Arena.
SCOUTING THE HUSKIES (1-1-2)
UConn opened the season on Oct. 2 with a 2-1 loss at No. 8 Boston University and the next day, UConn tied Union, 2-2, at home.
Last weekend, UConn topped Syracuse, 4-3, and tied Colgate, 3-3.
Brittany Berisoff leads the Husky offense with three goals and four points, while Leah Buress has dished out two assists this season.
Annie Belanger and Elaine Chuli have split time in net for the Huskies. Belanger has recorded 59 saves and Chuli has tallied 86 saves. Both goalies have conceded five goals.
Chuli played all 60 minutes in the 2-1 loss against Boston University making 46 saves.
LAST SERIES RECAP
Behind a pair of shutout performances from Celine Whitlinger and Hannah Ehresmann, the Penn State women's hockey team swept Union at the Pegula Ice Arena.
The Nittany Lions won both meetings by a score of 3-0.
In the opener, Hannah Hoenshell opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period for the 1-0 lead.
The Nittany Lions then tallied a pair of goals in the second period and Whitlinger made 11 saves to secure the 3-0 win for Penn State.
In the finale, Kelsey Crow scored her first goal as a Nittany Lion less than seven minutes into the game for the 1-0 lead.
Like Saturday night, a pair of Nittany Lions found the back of the net in the second period and Ehresmann recorded 16 saves in Sunday's contest.
BACK-TO-BACK
For the first time in program history, the Nittany Lions tallied back-to-back shutouts against a Division I team. Last weekend, Penn State swept Union by a score of 3-0 in each game.
SUCCESS ON THE SPECIAL TEAMS
In the NCAA, the Nittany Lions rank 12th in power play conversion (18.75%) and they are tied for 10th in penalty kill percentage (87.5%).
4-IN-A-ROW
Laura Bowman enters the series against UConn having tallied a goal in each of the last four games. In the series-finale against Union, Bowman recorded her sixth power play goal as a Nittany Lion, which moves her into a tied for third all-time at Penn State.
SUTTON EXCELS ON THE POWER PLAY
Bella Sutton tallied her sixth career power play goal against No. 7/8 Boston University. The sophomore is tied for third all-time at Penn State in power play goals.
ALL-TIME SAVES RECORD
Celine Whitlinger is 19 saves shy of setting the Penn State women's hockey all-time saves record. Nicole Paniccia holds the Nittany Lion all-time saves record with 1,801.
100 GAMES
In the season-opener against Minnesota, Jill Holdcroft became the seventh Nittany Lion to skate in 100 career games. Micayla Catanzariti is on pace to become the eighth Nittany Lion to eclipse the 100-game mark (96).
NITTANY LION ATTACK
Against No. 7/8 Boston University, the Nittany Lions scored five goals in a game for the tenth time in program history.
STARTING OUT FAST
On Oct. 9, 2015, against No. 7/8 BU, Laura Bowman scored 43 seconds into the game, which is three seconds shy of tying the program record for the fastest goal to start a game. The record, held by Bowman, was set on Oct. 26, 2013, against New Hampshire.
WEEKLY HONORS
For the seventh time in her career, senior Celine Whitlinger received the College Hockey America Goaltender of the Week award. Whitlinger tallied 41 saves against the top-ranked Minnesota Golden Gophers.
For her performance against the Union Dutchwomen, Victoria Samuelsson was named the CHA Rookie of the Week. In the series, Samuelsson dished out two assists Saturday night and added one more in Sunday's game. Samuelsson is currently tied for the team lead in points (four).
NCAA RANKINGS
Heading into the UConn series, Celine Whitlinger is fourth in save percentage (.957) and ranks seventh in goals against average (1.34).
Among the nation's leaders in goals, Laura Bowman is tied for 14th (four).
PRESEASON COACHES' POLL
The Penn State women's hockey team has been picked fourth in the College Hockey America (CHA) Preseason Coaches' Poll, as announced by the conference office Sept. 21. The Nittany Lions received 12 points in the poll, four points shy of RIT.
NEXT TIME OUT
Conference play begins for the Nittany Lions next weekend, as Penn State heads to Wentzville, Mo., for a series against Lindenwood (Oct. 30-31).
