UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Junior Chris Nugent has earned his second consecutive conference weekly award of the season, being selected as the EIVA Offensive Player of the Week Monday afternoon as announced by the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association.
Nugent helped lead Penn State to a 3-0 sweep of No. 14 Saint Francis on the road in their opening game of EIVA play this past weekend. In the straight set victory against Saint Francis, Chris recorded 15 kills on a .370 attacking percentage which included one service ace. This is the second EIVA Offensive Player of the Week selection for Chris in 2016.
Nugent and the rest of the 8th ranked Nittany Lions return home this week for a non-conference game against the Trojans when Mount Olive visits Rec Hall Saturday February, 6 at 7 p.m.
