UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - For the 45th time, the Nittany Lions will have a representative in the Super Bowl when former Penn State wide receiver Jordan Norwood and the Denver Broncos take on the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50 on CBS at 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Broncos punched their ticket to Super Bowl 50 with a 20-18 win over New England in the AFC Championship game. Norwood had two catches for 16 yards and returned three punts for seven yards against the Patriots. In the Division Round, Denver claimed a 23-16 win over Pittsburgh as Norwood had one catch for 10 yards.

Denver claimed the AFC West regular season title and the No. 1 overall seed in the AFC. Norwood, in his fifth NFL season, appeared in 11 games with five starts this season. He had 22 receptions for 207 yards. Norwood also returned six punts for 51 yards.

Penn State has had at least one representative in 45 of 50 Super Bowls and 100 appearances overall. Thirty-six Nittany Lions have claimed 53 Super Bowl rings. Jordan Hill and Michael Robinson are the last Penn Staters to win a Super Bowl ring with the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Penn State season ticket renewals and Nittany Lion Club membership renewals also are underway for the 2016 campaign, which includes five Big Ten home games for the first time. There will not be any increase in the price of Penn State football season tickets or Nittany Lion Club donation levels for next season.
