GENEVA, Ohio
- Penn State completed the first of two days at the Spire Invitational at the Spire Institute Friday night.

Starting with the field events, Obeng Marfo secured a fifth-place finish in the women's weight throw with her throw of 61'-9" (18.82m) a personal best mark, while teammate Alyssa Robinson finished just outside the top-10 in 11th finishing competition with a best throw of 58'-11.50" (17.97m).

For the men's weight throw, Penn State finished 7-8 represented by David Lucas and Morgan Shigo, respectively.

Lucas recorded a mark of 65'-0" (19.81m) followed closely by Shigo's mark of 64'-7.25" (19.69m).

Kory Decesaris finished 10th with a throw of 60'-7.75" (18.48m).

Sam Reiser took the 600-meters by storm, finishing second with a new personal best time of 1:18.37, teammate Riley Gaibler finished in the top-eight as well running 1:20.48.

Stepping up to the 1K, dual-sport athlete Marissa Sheva set a new PR in the event running her time of 2:52.50. Grace Trucilla also set a personal best in the race with her time of 2:53.87.

The women's 200-meters featured the lone win on the night for Penn State as Keianna Albury paced the field to a time of 23.68 setting a new personal best for the sophomore from Nassau, Bahamas.

True freshman Kiara Lester took ninth-place in the 200-meters running 24.58, while Deja Davis, Lauren Costa and Quenee Dale finished 14th, 17th and 19th, respectively.

Malik Moffett and Xavier Smith turned in a 2-3 finish for Penn State in the men's 200-meters as they clocked times of 21.14 and 21.23.

Dan Chisena took sixth-place in 21.52, while Darien Williams (16th) rounded out competition in the event for Penn State with his time of 21.85 - a new PR.

Penn State will return to action for day two of the Spire Invitational tomorrow starting at 10:30 a.m. ET

SEATTLE, Wash.
- Led by sophomore Tessa Barrett, Penn State turned in two outstanding performances on the opening day of the Husky Classic hosted by the University of Washington.

Tessa Barrett ran in the front pack from the beginning leading for the majority of the race before pushing the pace over the final few laps to secure the win in a time of 15:51.32, a time that would've been No. 3 in the NCAA heading into the weekend.

Not far behind Barrett was teammate Jillian Hunsberger, who took 11th-place running a time of 16:08.61.

Also competing on day one was Timothy McGowan who clocked 14:04.38 in the men's 5K, setting a new PR along the way.

The trio closed out competition for Penn State during the opening day of the Husky Classic.

The Nittany Lions will return to the track tomorrow starting at 12 p.m. ET for day two as Penn State wraps up action on the west coast.
