UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 25, 2017ââ'¬" The Penn State women's tennis team fell to Columbia 4-2 Saturday. Devan McCluskey (Phoenix, Ariz.) won her singles match against Rima Asatrian of Columbia 6-3, 7-6(10).
"We battled in both matches this weekend. Today we were a few points short of coming out with the win, said head coach Chris Cagle." We saw some good things today, but we still need to improve in a few areas. We will get back to work this week to prepare for Cornell."
The Nittany lions won two of their doubles matches, collecting the doubles point. Hanley/McCluskey (PSU) defeated Asatrian/Kevakian 6-3. Blik/Smith (PSU) beat Pollack/ Williams 6-1. The third doubles match was unfinished.
Looking ahead, Penn State travels to Ithaca, NY on March 4, to take on Cornell. First serve is set for 10:00 a.m.
