Penn State Fencing Competed in Day One of the Notre Dame Invitational Meet

Evanston, Ill. – The Nittany Lions competed in day one of the Notre Dame Invitational meet housed by Northwestern University.

The fencing team opened the day with its first win against Wayne State University in women's 22-5 and against University of Incarnate Word in men's 24-3.

The women defeated Ohio State University 22-5 while the men fell to OSU 9-18.

The women's team earned another win over the Air Force Academy 19-8 and the men's team with a 20-7 win over University of North Carolina.

The women's team lost to Notre Dame 17-10 and the men's team came out on top against Notre Dame 16-11.

The men's fencing team beat Wayne State University 26-1 and the women's team came back with a win over California Institute of Technology 26-1.

The women's team gained the final win of the day over Stanford University 18-9.

Penn State will be competing again tomorrow Feb. 5
