OTTAWA, Ontario - Junior men's soccer player Aymar Sigue (St. Alberta, Alberta) has been selected for the U20 National Team CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying Squad as announced by the Canadian Soccer Association Wednesday, Feb. 8.
Sigue and the rest of the team will gather Feb. 11 in preparation for their opening match on Feb. 17 against Honduras. The team will then take on Mexico Feb. 20 and Antigua & Barbuda on Feb. 23.
Following the opening round, the six nations will be divided into two groups as determined by the draw and the corresponding placements in the opening round.
In the Classification Phase, the top two teams in each group will qualify for the FIFA U-20 World Cup Korea Republic 2017. The two group winners will also play in the Championship match on Sunday, March 5.
All matches will be played in San José, Costa Rica, at either Estadio Nacional or Estadio Ricardo Saprissa. The Championship match will be played at Estadio Nacional.
