TEAM USA Release

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.
-- Nineteen athletes from the U.S. Women's National Team were selected by Janneke Schopman, USWNT Head Coach, to represent the United States at the Hawke's Bay Cup Mar. 31-April 9 in New Zealand including Penn State alum Amanda Dinunzio.

"After a great month of training in California I am happy to announce the team that will travel to New Zealand," said Schopman. "The games we play there will give us much needed experience on the international level and show us on which areas we need to focus moving forward to World League Semifinals in July.

Dinunzio played four years for head coach Charlene Morett-Curtiss from 2011-2014 earning NFHCA Division I All-Mideast Region First-Team honors in 2014, Academic All-Big Ten honors in 2012 and 2013 as well as being named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad all four years.

A 2014 Penn State graduate, Dinunzio is a third-generation Nittany Lion who grew up coming to as many Penn State field hockey games as she could, and will now represent Team USA playing the sport she loves.

The U.S., currently sixth in the world rankings, will be joined by Australia (third), New Zealand (fifth) and Japan (11th) at the competition in Hastings, New Zealand. For the event schedule, click here.
