UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; March 16, 2017ââ'¬" The Penn State women's tennis team (3-8) returns home to the Sarni Indoor Tennis Center when they take on Minnesota, tomorrow, March 17 for a 4:30p.m. ET. matchup against the Minnesota Gophers. This will be the first of ten consecutive Big Ten rivalries to finish out the rest of the 2017 regular season.
"It is nice to get into the heart of our Big Ten schedule," said head coach Chris Cagle." We take on Minnesota on Friday and it will be nice to be back home. Wisconsin will be a tough road challenge on Sunday. We have been building on our practices the past few weeks and I look forward to competing all weekend."
Freshman, Shannon Hanley (Kensington, Md.) leads the Nittany Lions in singles with five wins on the season. Devan McCluskey (Phoenix, Ariz.) Dasha Sapogova (Belarus, Minsk) and Samantha Smith (Cary, N.C.) hold four singles wins.
The Gophers are currently 9-4 on the season and 1-0 in the Big Ten conference.
This match will be military appreciation when we honor the ROTC for their service. Fans have a chance to enter a raffle and win a tennis bag.
