CHARLOTTESVILLE, Virginia -
Penn State wrapped up the final day of the Virginia Challenge from Lannigan Field where multiple athletes posted event winning marks in the cold and rainy conditions.

Competing in the final day of the heptathlon and decathlon, Luke Rarig and Madeline Holmberg posted 12th and first-place finishes in their respective events.

Rarig competed in the 110-meter hurdles (14.94), discus throw (94'-11"/28.93m), pole vault (11'-9.75"/3.60m), javelin throw (144'-0"/43.90m) and the 1,500-meters (5:00.79) to wrap up day two with a total score of 6,278-points. Rarig set personal best in every event on day two of the decathlon.

Madeline Holmberg rounded out the heptathlon by posting marks of 20'-0.50" (6.11m) in the long jump, 105'-0" (32.01m) in the javelin and a new personal best time of 2:23.39 in the 800-meters to wi her first collegiate heptathlon. Holmberg's total of 5,636-points stands as the No. 3 total score in program history trailing only Pam Connell (5,706) and school record holder Gayle Hunter who scored 5,797-points back in 2009.

Danae Rivers finished fourth in the 1,500-meters running 4:17.38, followed by teammates Julie Kocjancic (4:24.42), Marissa Sheva (4:25.87), Elizabeth Chikotas (4:28.18) and while Rachel Banks who ran a personal best 4:30.57.

The 200-meters saw six Nittany lions post top-10 finishes in the race led by Malik Moffett who crossed the line in a meet best 20.93 while Xavier Smith (second), Dan Chisena (eighth), and Karson Kowalchuk (10th) recorded times of 21.11, 21.58 and 21.82, respectively.

Keianna Albury paced the women's team with a time of 24.16 finishing sixth just a head of Kiara Lester who ran 24.46 for eighth-place.

Tim McGowan ran his way to a 10-second PR in the 5,000-meters running 13:54.20 for sixth-place that stands at No. 7 all-time in Penn State history. Tori Gerlach ran 15:58.88 that fell just short of her personal best in the event taking third-place. Jillian Hunsberger finished in 16:04.24 to place sixth.

Rachael DeCecco grabbed a top-10 finish in the 400-meter hurdles with her time of 1:00.88 finishing eighth.

In the javelin Michael Shuey (236'-10"/72.19m), Michael Biddle (206'-0"/62.79m) and Matt Nawrocki 190'-8"/58.13m) brought home first, fifth and seventh-place finishes in the event.

Kayla Zoschg (147'1"/44.85m) finished second in the javelin, while Steph Sievers finished sixth in the invite section of the javelin at 144'11" (44.18m).

Three Nittany Lions finished in the top-five of the long jump led by Malik Moffett who tied the No. 6 mark in program history with his jump of 25'-6" (7.77m) winning the event. Kaitlyn Lopez finished second in the women's long jump at 19'-6.25" (5.95m) while Gibson finished fifth in the invite long jump 18'-10.75"(5.76m).

Megan McCloskey finished sixth in the women's high jump with her clearance of 5'-8.75" (1.75m).

Alyssa Robinson at 52'-7.25" (16.03m) and Obeng Marfo at 51'-5.50" (15.68m) brought home third and fourth-place finishes in the women's shot put while Morgan Shigo (56'-8"/17.27m) and David Lucas finished first and tenth, respectively.

Lucas would return in the men's discus winning the event with a throw of 193'-5" (58.95m).

LEWISBURG, PA - Penn State posted seven personal best marks as the Nittany Lions competed in the Bucknell Team Challenge hosted by Bucknell University.

Peter Hughey had a career day as the quarter-miler ran personal best of 22.25 and 48.84 in the 200-meters and 400-meters, respectively.

Hughey wasn't the only one in on the personal best as Alex McCord (172'-4"/52.54m), Grace Trucilla (2:12.46), Hannah Catalano (4:40.56), Noemie Noullet (4:41.34) and Rosemary Campbell (135'-7"/41.34m) all posted personal best in their respective events (javelin throw, 800-meters, 1,500-meters, 1,500-meters, javelin throw).

Penn State recorded 14 top-10 finishes at the meet, including four top-three finishes.
