T&F Captures 12 Event Titles at Jim Thorpe Invite

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State hosted the annual Jim Thorpe meet Friday afternoon at the Nittany Lion Outdoor Track bringing home 12 first-place finishes.

Penn State athletes who grabbed first-place finishes include:

  • Grace Trucilla - 800-meters (2:14.25)
  • Lisa Bennatan - 1,500-meters (4:45.63)
  • Quenee Dale - 100-meter hurdles (14.91)
  • Megan McCloskey - High Jump (5'-6.50"/1.69m)
  • Kaitlyn Lopez - Long Jump (18'-7.25"/5.67m)
  • Dannielle Gibson - Triple Jump (40'-11.75"/12.49m)
  • Rosemary Campbell - Javelin (129'-9"/39.56m)
  • Tyreek Mathis - 400-meters (47.76)
  • Colin Abert - 800-meters (1:51.89)
  • Devin Bradham - High Jump (6'-9"/2.06m)
  • Jon Yohman -Shot Put (61'-3.50"/18.68m)
  • Alex McCord - Javelin (175'-4"/53.44m)

Yohman's mark in the shot put is personal best, as well as the T-No.7 mark in program history, matching the performance of Greg Reyner from 1986.

The Nittany Lions will be back in action next week as they host the 2017 Big Ten Championships May 12-14.
