Two to Represent Penn State at Winter Cup

Feb. 14, 2018

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's gymnastics steam will send sophomore Stephen Nedoroscik (Worcester, Mass.) and freshman Brennan Pantazis (Sparks, Nev.) to the 2018 Winter Cup in Las Vegas, Nevada Thursday, Feb. 15 and Saturday, Feb. 17.

Nedoroscik and Pantazis will both be making their first appearances at the Winter Cup as Nedoroscik will compete on the pommel horse and Pantazis will compete in the all-around.

Coming off winning the NCAA National Championship on the pommel horse, Nedoroscik has picked up two event victories this season, while earning two other podium finishes placing third against Illinois and second at Ohio State. Nedoroscik qualified for the Winter Cup after competing in the US Championships this past summer.

Pantazis qualified for the Winter Cup after placing second in the West Point Open to kick off the season. The freshman all-arounder has competed one time this season in all six events and has earned three individual event victories for the Blue and White. Pantazis returns to his home state looking to place in the all-around after winning the floor exercise once and taking two victories on the parallel bars this season for the Nittany Lions.

The rest of the Penn State squad will take a week off from competing before returning to the floor Saturday, Feb. 24 for a home double dual with the women's gymnastics team against Minnesota. The meet against the Golden Gophers is set to starts at 4 p.m. at Rec Hall.
