OPENING TIP
Penn State is playing in the Big Ten Tournament semifinals for the fourth time with the previous appearances in 2000, 2001 and 2011.

The Nittany Lions last played in the championship game in 2011.

LIONS IN THE BIG TEN TOURNEY
Penn State is the first No. 7 seed to advance to the Big Ten Tournament semifinals since Michigan State in 2011. The Spartans lost to No. 6 seed Penn State in the semis.

The Nittany Lions have won five games in the past four Big Ten Tournaments, their most BTT wins in a four-year span since the tournament began in 1998.

Coach Patrick Chambers now has five Big Ten Tournament wins which ties him with Ed DeChellis (2003-2011) for most as a Penn State coach.

SERIES RECORD VS. PURDUE
Penn State and Purdue have met only once previously this season with the Boilermakers coming away with a 76-73 win at Mackey Arena.

The last two games between these two teams have been decided by four points or less with a Purdue overtime win at the Bryce Jordan Center in 2017 and a 76-73 Boilermaker win on Feb. 18.

Overall series: Purdue leads 36-12
Big Ten games: Purdue leads 34-12
Big Ten Tournament: Purdue leads 2-0
(2015 & 2009)

THREES HIGHER
The Nittany Lions had their highest 3-point field goal total in the Patrick Chambers' era with 14 against Coppin State, one shy of the program-record 15 (Hartford, 2008; Purdue 2001). Against Northwestern in the second round of the Big Ten Tournament, Penn State had 13, a program record for a tournament game.

Since the 2011-12 season, Penn State has had 58 games with nine or more 3-point field goals and since 2015-16 has registered 15 games with 10 or more 3-point field goals.

MILESTONES FOR CHAMBERS
Coach Patrick Chambers, in his seventh year, has achieved several milestones as leader of the Nittany Lions. He earned his 100th win at Penn State vs. Nebraska Jan. 12 and his 11th win over a ranked team over No. 13 Ohio State on March 2.

The Philadelphia, Pa., native led Penn State to its first 20-win season since 2008-09 and 10th in the program's history. This squad reached 21 wins faster than any other PSU team.

With the win over Ohio State, Chambers is now 150-149 for his nine-year career following two 21-14 seasons and an NCAA appearance as the America East champion.
