PENN STATE CONTINUES ROAD STINT AT ARIZONA STATE
The Penn State men's gymnastics continues to compete on the road Saturday, March 10 when it travels to Arizona State for a dual with with Sun Devils. The Nittany Lions and ASU will kick off competition at 9 p.m. EST.

SERIES HISTORY WITH THE SUN DEVILS
Penn State and Arizona State are meeting for just the second time in dual competition but have competed against each other multiple times at open meets. The Nittany Lions are 1-0 against the Sun Devils in dual meets after traveling to Tempe, Arizona in the 2016 campaign and earning a 430.450-413.700 victory. The Blue and White will meet up with ASU for the second time in as many weeks as Penn State earned the victory over the Sun Devils at a tri-meet in Iowa City, Iowa Saturday, March 3.

SCOUTING ARIZONA STATE
The Sun Devils are averaging a 383.229 team score through the first six meets of the season and rank eighth in the nation on the floor exercise. ASU is also just outside the top 10 on the vault, ranking 11th nationally. Daniel Bronnerberg leads the Sun Devils on the floor exercise with a season-best 14.450 to rank 12th nationally and Kiwan Watts ranks 14th nationally on the parallel bars with a season average of 13.650. Watts also ranks in the top 10 nationally in the all-around with a 79.200 average and a 80.050 season-high score.

FIVE UP, FIVE COUNT
Reaching the midway point of the 2018 season, men's gymnastics will now go to the five up, five count format for the remainder of the season. The Nittany Lions will keep all five scores that go up and compete instead of taking the five highest like it is prior to the Winter Cup.

NITTANY LIONS EARN THREE INDIVIDUAL VICTORIES AT IOWA
Despite finishing second at the tri-meet at Iowa with Arizona State, the Penn State men's gymnastics team picked up three individual event victories at the meet. Junior Chris Sands earned a victory for the second-straight week with the win on floor exercise, while Noah Roberson notched a win on the still rings and Wyatt Tyndall placed first on the parallel bars for the Blue and White.

SANDS IS VICTORIOUS FOR SECOND-STRAIGHT WEEK
Junior Chris Sands picked up his second-straight victory in as many weeks, placing first on the floor exercise with a 14.300. The win marks the second of the season for Sands as he also notched a victory on the still rings against Minnesota. The Lancaster, Pa. native also earned a top-five finish on the still rings, scoring a 13.750.

ROBERSON LEADS ON THE RINGS
Noah Roberson paced the Blue and White on the still rings at Iowa, coming away with the event victory after scoring a season-high 14.350 in the event. The win marks the second of the season for Roberson as he notched the event victory in the team portion of the West Point Open. Roberson has also garnered two second-place finishes this season on the still rings.

TYNDALL GRABS VICTORY ON PARALLEL BARS
Junior Wyatt Tyndall secured the win on the parallel bars after earning four podium finishes prior to the meet at Iowa. The Saskatoon, Saskatchewan native scored a 14.200 on the parallel bars and added his second win of the season as he placed first on the floor exercise in the team portion of the West Point Open.

The Penn State men's gymnastics team will wrap up its 2018 home campaign Saturday, March 17 when it welcomes Nebraska to Rec Hall for a 4 p.m. meet. The Nittany Lions will honor the careers of its three seniors following the meet with the Cornhuskers.
