WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State men's lacrosse sophomore Gerard Arceri has been named to the list of 25 nominees for the 2018 Tewaaraton Award. The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the pre-eminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.

Arceri leads the Big Ten in both face-off winning percentage, .698, and ground balls per game, 10.77. Both of his marks are good for fourth in the nation.

The St. James, N.Y., native, has also recorded a career-best six goals this season and has dished out one assist.

"This is a remarkable accomplishment for these student-athletes," said Jeffrey Harvey, Chairman of The Tewaaraton Foundation. "The Foundation and its board congratulate these talented players and their respective teams for being recognized by the Selection Committees as Tewaaraton Nominees."

Five men's and five women's finalists will be selected from these groups, announced on Thursday, May 10 and invited to the 18th annual Tewaaraton Award Ceremony on Thursday, May 31 in Washington, D.C.

Arceri and the Nittany Lions will conclude the regular season on Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m. as they host Michigan for Senior Day.
