July 12, 2018

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Earlier this month, five student-athletes from the Penn State women's golf team were honored as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Junior classmates Cara Basso (Downingtown, Pa.), Jackie Rogowicz (Yardley, Pa.), Kamerine Taylor (Dublin, Ohio) and Lauren Waller (Canonsburg, Pa.) along with sophomore Maddy Herr (New Hope, Pa.) each received this prestigious honor.

For Basso, Rogowicz and Waller this marks the second-consecutive year the trio has earned this distinction while Taylor and Herr earn their first WGCA All-American Scholar honor.

To be selected to the All-American Scholar Team one must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50, this is one of the most stringent criteria in all of college athletics. This year 1,011 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor.
