MGYM Trio Set For International Competition

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's gymnastics team will be represented on an international level this summer as Sam Zakutney, Favian Valdez and Wyatt Tyndall will all compete throughout the month of July, representing their respective countries.

Zakutney, a rising junior, will represent Canada twice this month as he heads off to Mersin, Turkey for the World Challenge Cup over July 6-8. He will then compete in the Canadian Final World Championships Trial over July 26-30 in Montreal, Canada. The Ottawa, Ontario, native has been a member of Canada's Senior Team for Men's Artistic Gymnastics since 2016.

Tyndall, a Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, native, will join Zakutney the Canadian Final World Championships Trial at the end of the month.

Valdez, a native of Kearny, New Jersey, will be representing Puerto Rico at the Central American Games in Barranquilla, Colombia over July 19-24. This marks the second-straight summer that Valdez will represent Puerto Rico at the Central American Games.
