July 26, 2018

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's soccer head coach Erica Dambach has announced the addition of international student-athlete Kim Dubs. Dubs, a forward, will join the Nittany Lions during preseason camp and will be eligible to play this season.

"We are incredibly excited to add Kim to our 2018 class," Dambach said. "She is a really talented player who will bring a wealth of international experience and savvy. As soon as we saw her play and then got to know her a little as a person we knew she would be a great fit here and we are really looking forward to getting to coach her!"

"Penn State is competing on a national level every year," Dubs said. "I liked everybody I was in contact with, and the whole package just seemed to fit. I'm looking forward to coming to PSU."

Dubs a native of Zurich, Switzerland, has been seen at different age levels with the Switzerland Women's National Team, which includes the U-16, U-17, U-19, and U-23 age levels. Most recently, Dubs competed with the Switzerland U-19 WNT at the 2017 UEFA European Women's U-19 Qualifiers.

Her international experience also included a semifinal finish at the 2016 UEFA European Women's U-19 Championship and an appearance in the final of the 2015 UEFA European Women's U-17 Championship. At the club level, Dubs played for BSC Young Boys Switzerland.

The Penn State women's soccer team begins its 25th season as a varsity program on August 17 against West Virginia at Jeffrey Field. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start.
