Our department's mission is to provide the finest health care possible for every Penn State student-athlete, with our first priority always being the student-athlete's overall safety and medical needs. The sports medicine staff, through their combined and concerted efforts, also serves as a conduit to mental health, nutrition, performance psychology, and performance Enhancement. This allows us to provide the student-athletes with a competitive edge for maximizing athletic performance by utilizing a diverse treatment approach with foundations in manual medicine techniques. Integration of traditional athletic training techniques with exercise and use of modalities is coupled with an osteopathic model of treatment, providing a unique, efficient, and effective model for injury prevention, treatment and rehabilitation for the Penn State student -athletes we serve.
