Abert Tabbed Big Ten XC Athlete of the Week

ROSEMONT, Ill. – After capturing a win in Penn State's season opener at the Dolan Duals, senior Colin Abert (Easton, Pa.) has been tabbed the Big Ten Cross Country Men's Athlete of the Week on Wednesday. With his honor today, he has been named the Big Ten Cross Country Men's Athlete of the Week four times in his career.

Last Friday, Abert completed the 6-kilometer course in 17:41.13 to defend his Dolan Duals title from 2017. As a team, the Nittany Lion men won the meet with a perfect score of 15 points.

The Nittany Lions are back in action on Friday, Sept. 7, with the annual Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational. The meet gets underway with the women's 6,000-meter run at 5:30 p.m. at the Blue-White Golf Course.
