LAST TIME OUT: RENNSELAER
The Nittany Lions went 1-0-1 in Troy, N.Y. against RPI to break a four-game losing skid. In game one, Penn State earned its first shutout of the 2018-19 season with a 4-0 win over the Engineers. In game two, both teams went to overtime and ended the game in a 1-1 stalemate.

The Nittany Lions had four different goal scorers in game one, including Kelsey Crow, Natalie Heising, Izzy Heminger, and Sophie Slattery. Those three players in addition to Abby Welch recorded multiple points in the contest led by Heminger's three.

Jenna Brenneman earned her first shutout of the season and her first with the Nittany Lions behind a strong 22-save performance.

In game two, Penn State opened the scoring again on a goal from Slattery, her second of the weekend. RPI finally got on the board in the second period to tie the game. Penn State controlled play in the third period and overtime but couldn't quite score the go-ahead goal and ended the game in a tie.

LOOKING AT RIT
The Tigers had just one game this past weekend and it was a thriller. RIT erased a two-goal deficit in the third period with four unanswered goals to take down Syracuse last Friday in a CHA showdown. RIT enters the series on a three-game streak without a loss (2-0-1).

RIT had five skaters record two points each against Syracuse, including leading point-scorer Kendall Cornine. The senior has eight goals and three assists through 13 games. Sophomore forward Brittany Gout is second on the team with ten points on two goals and eight helpers.

Terra Lanteigne has started all 13 games for the Tigers in goal and has put together some impressive numbers. She has a 2.12 GAA to go with a .939 save percentage and a shutout.

ALL TIME SERIES
The Nittany Lions lead the all-time series 15-13-3. Penn State swept all four matchups in the 2017-18 season by a combined score of 13-1.

SEE YOU IN JANUARY!
This home series marks the final home series of the 2018 calendar year for the Nittany Lions. Their next home game at Pegula Ice Arena will be Tuesday, Jan. 8, against Cornell at 6 p.m.

TUESDAY'S GONE
This Tuesday's matchup is one of three Tuesday games this season for the Nittany Lions. This matchup and the Jan. 8 matchup against Cornell are both at home. On Jan. 29, Penn State travels to Princeton for a 6 p.m. puck drop.

NUMBERS TO NOTE
This matchup features the two stingiest teams in College Hockey America in terms of goals allowed. Penn State leads the conference with just 31 goals allowed through 14 games and RIT is close behind in second place with 32 goals allowed through 13 games. RIT has found some success on the power play this season with the second-ranked PP unit in the CHA at 18.2% (8/44). Penn State counters with being the least penalized team in the conference at 7.6 PIM/G.

IZZY MAKING YOU DIZZY
Freshmen defenseman Izzy Heminger was awarded the CHA Rookie of the Week for her performance last weekend at RPI, most notably setting a career high with three points in last Friday's game.

She now has four points on two goals and two assists in her last three games after beginning the season with just one point through nine games.

STONEWALL BRENNEMAN
Jenna Brenneman continued her stellar season by adding her first CHA Goaltender of the Week award for her performance at RPI. Brenneman picked up her first shutout with the Blue and White in a 22-save performance on Friday.

She allowed only one goal the entire weekend and leads the conference with a 1.84 GAA. Her .922 save percentage only trails RIT's Lanteigne. Brenneman has allowed two or fewer goals in 10 of her 13 starts this season.
