Nittany Lions in the NFL – Week 15

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - A total of 34 Penn State football alumni are populating the rosters of 21 National Football League teams. The Nittany Lions are perennially a top-20 program in producing players in the NFL. Each week throughout the year, GoPSUsports.com provides updates on the exploits of these former Nittany Lion greats.
 
A pair of Nittany Lion NFL vets stepped up with clutch performances in upset wins in Week 15. Kicker Robbie Gould converted four field goals and two extra points for the 49ers Sunday, including a game-winning boot in overtime to stun the Seahawks. Gould is the league's most accurate field goal kicker this season. Sunday night, guard Stefen Wisniewski started for the Eagles for the first time since Week 4 and helped prevent NFL sack leader Aaron Donald from getting his hands on quarterback Nick Foles. Foles was not sacked all night and the Eagles prevailed over the Rams.
 
Additionally, Allen Robinson and Adrian Amos helped the Bears clinch the NFC North Division with a win over the Packers, DaeSean Hamilton had his second seven-catch performance in a row and defensive linemen DaQuan Jones and Austin Johnson helped the Titans shutout Saquon Barkley and the Giants.

Amos made five stops in a big win over the Packers that clinched the NFC North Division title for the Bears.

Saquon Barkley (2015-17) RB, New York Giants

Barkley was limited to less than 100 yards from scrimmage for just the second time in his career, as he was limited to 31 yards on 14 carries, ending a streak of four-straight 100-yard rushing performances, and 25 yards on four receptions. According to ESPN Stats & Information tracking, he averaged just two yards before contact and he was hit at or behind the line of scrimmage on six of his 14 rushes.
 
Barkley has 1,155 rushing yards on the season, which is third in the NFL behind the Cowboys' Ezekiel Elliott (1,349 yards) and the Rams' Todd Gurley (1,251 yards).

Gesicki started at tight end for the sixth time this season and made two catches for 23 yards against the Vikings.

Godwin made his third start of the season but was held without a catch on three targets.

Gould made two extra points and four field goals, including a game-winning 36-yard kick in overtime, to give the 49ers a win over the Seahawks. He is now 29-of-30 on field goal attempts on the season to lead the NFL with a 97 percent success rate. Gould also surpassed a milestone, becoming the 23rd kicker in NFL history to reach 1,500 career points.

Hodges started at middle linebacker and made four solo tackles.
 
Chris Hogan (men's lacrosse - 2007-10) WR, New England Patriots

Hogan caught two passes for 68 yards, including a 63-yard touchdown pass for the game's first score.

Mike Hull (2011-14) LB, Miami Dolphins

Hull assisted on a tackle on the opening kickoff in extensive action on special teams.
