UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State-Rutgers baseball game Friday night at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park was suspended after two innings due to thunderstorms. It will resume Saturday at noon with Rutgers leading 2-1. Saturday's originally scheduled game will start 30-45 minutes after the completion of the first game.
Fans with tickets for tonight's game can redeem them at the State College Spikes box office for any other 2019 Penn State baseball game.
Penn State jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first inning after third baseman Justin Williams tripled with two outs and then scored on an error, however Rutgers went ahead in the second after third baseman Carmen Sclafani.
The Nittany Lions left the bases loaded in the bottom of the second inning, and with storms approaching, the game was halted at 7:11 p.m.
