Princeton, N.J. – Penn State men's tennis finished up its three-day stint at the Farnsworth-Ivy Plus Tournament. Four players traveled to the contest for doubles and singles play.
SINGLES
Chikaya Sato earned a straight set win over Eshan Talluri of Texas, 6-3, 6-1.
Gabriel Nemeth retired against Kentucky's Ying-ze Chen.
Alp Sentay was defeated by conference rival, Michigan's Kristofer Siimar, 6-0, 6-4.
Christos Antonopoulos did not compete in singles play.
DOUBLES
Nemeth/Sentay defeated William Grattan-Smith/Tatsuki Shimamoto of Miami (Fla.) 8-1.
"These early tournaments are great ways to see how you should plan your practices and tournament schedule for the remainder of the fall Season," head coach Jeff Zinn said. "This tournament proved to the staff that we need to play more matches and compete at a higher level. It was a wake up call for the team and hopefully we can play better this weekend because the competition level will be quite high."
The Blue and White will travel to Charlottesville, Va. for the UVA Blue and Orange Classic, September 27-29.
