POSTGAME QUOTES: Penn State Student-Athlete Myreon Jones

Penn State Men's Basketball
Student-Athlete Postgame Press Conference
vs. Delaware – October 27, 2019
Myreon Jones | Guard | So./So.

Q: Myreon, you played with a lot of confidence today, you didn't look like you were holding back at all offensively. How comfortable do you feel now going into your second year because it looked like, today, you've grown leaps and bounds in your offensive game.
A: I have a lot of confidence. Last year playing gave me a lot of experience and Coach and my teammates telling me to play aggressive and just be me. It helps a lot.

Q: MJ, something Pat [Chambers] mentioned a minute ago was that even though Lamar's [Stevens] stats weren't anything that jumped out at you, as a senior leader he just has to win. What has he been like both in the locker room in practice and in games as that senior leader?
A: He's been great. He's a big brother to me. He's leading us in practice or in the locker room when we're at home. After this game, he pulled us to the side and just talked to us. I think that's going to take us a long way.

Q: MJ, congrats on the win first tonight, and second of all, Mike Watkins had a really good game, efficient from both the field and the foul line. Can you just talk about the work he's put in and how you observed that?
A: Mike's been working all summer. Every practice he's given us his all. This past week we've seen a different Mike. The Mike I've seen last year was nothing like this year, this year's way better. He's been working his butt off and you saw what he did today.

Q: MJ, something that Pat's talked about a lot is that you guys are going to go 10 deep this year at times. What does having that depth do for you as a player and as a team that you force other teams to matchup with you?
A: It makes us play harder. We play harder and give our all in that little bit of time. We know we have a sub coming in that's going to play the same way. I think that's just winning.

Q: One more thing here, Izaiah [Brockington], today, he didn't really have the offensive game that he wanted to have. But, even at the end of the game he's still making his presence felt on the defensive side of the ball with those couple of blocks. How big was his energy today for you guys from start to finish, he didn't let his foot off the gas?
A: [Izaiah] is a big part of our team. He doesn't have to have a good offensive side. He'll get blocks, get rebounds, get deflections. That helps us win and I think he knows that.
