-Head coaches Jason Crafton and Patrick Chambers were colleagues on the 2004-05 Villanova basketball staff.
-Penn State moves to 3-0 All Time vs. Maryland Eastern Shore. Tonight's meeting was the first time the two teams met in the Bryce Jordan Center. Patrick Chambers is now 1-0 vs. Maryland Eastern Shore.
-Penn State has won 14 of its last 15 season openers and eight of nine under Patrick Chambers, the Nittany Lions are 93-31 overall in season openers and 110-14 in home openers all-time.
-The Nittany Lions scored at least 80 points in the second opener for the fourth-straight year.
-The 17 points by Maryland Eastern Shore marks the lowest halftime total since Nebraska scored 13 points (2/7/2015) in a home game in the Bryce Jordan Center.
 
Penn State Team Notes
-Penn State's 38-point victory is the largest margin of victory in a season opener in the Patrick Chambers era. It matches the 38-point win over Juniata (64-26) to open the 1989-90 season and is the most since 51 points in the 1987-88 opener (Juniata, 83-32).
-Tonight's game marked the first time since December 22, 2017 that Penn State has had at least 10 team blocks.
-This is the first time six Nittany Lions were in double figures since 11/20/2017 vs. Pitt.
 
Nittany Lions Individual Notes
-Mike Watkins reached 200 career blocks in first half. His seven blocks for the night were his most since December 4, 2017. He is No. 2 on Penn State's all-time career blocks list with 206.
-Watkins' 11 rebounds moves him to eighth all time in Penn State career rebounds with 736.
-Watkins now needs 109 points to become 37th Nittany Lion to reach the 1,000-point milestone.
-Myles Dread finishes with 15 points, tying his career high for three-pointers made with five.
-Lamar Stevens made his 105th consecutive start, the second-longest current streak in the nation.
