Honors continue to roll in for forward Lamar Stevens during his stellar senior campaign. Stevens was named the Citizen Watch Naismith Trophy National Player of the Week and the Lute Olson Award National Player of the Week on Monday. The Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, product led Penn State to a 2-0 record last week with a career-high 33 points vs. Minnesota and team-high 24 points at No. 16 Michigan State.
For the second time this season and for his career, preseason All-Big Ten pick Lamar Stevens was selected as the Big Ten Conference Player of the Week Monday.
There are only two seasons in Penn State's Big Ten era, 2019-20 and 1995-96 the other, when the Nittany Lions have had a winning record after 12 conference games.
Penn State is the only team in the Big Ten this season with a winning record on the road (4-3).
Comparing the previous eight seasons at the 23-game mark, Penn State's current 77.1 points per game average is its highest in the Chambers era.

STEVENS' CAREER NIGHT GIVES LIONS SIXTH-STRAIGHT WIN
Led by Lamar Stevens' career-high 33 points, Penn State topped Minnesota 83-77 Saturday and won its sixth-straight game in front of a sold-out crowd of 15,261 fans in the Bryce Jordan Center.
Penn State never trailed, but Minnesota connected on all eight of its 3-pointers in the second half to erase the Nittany Lions' double-digit lead. Minnesota got as close as three, 71-68, at the 4:48 mark. A clutch field goal and free throw by Stevens and a trey by Myles Dread pushed Penn State back up by nine, 77-68, with 3:13 to play.
The Golden Gophers chipped away at the 10-point lead in the last minute, but went 2-8 from the field while sending PSU to the line. Penn State made enough free throws in the final 1:13 for the final.
Both teams lit it up in the second half and guard Marcus Carr scored 18 points by the 10-minute mark, getting to his 20-point total, and helping Minnesota trim the lead to single digits.
Izaiah Brockington scored three of the next four baskets for a 67-56 PSU lead with 8:12 left. He finished with 10 points, Curtis Jones Jr. added seven and Watkins four as the Nittany Lions' bench outscored Minnesota 21-7.
Penn State built an early lead, but the Nittany Lions' couldn't capitalize on the Golden Gophers' scoring drought. Minnesota snuck back into the game at 19-14 and 21-16.
Brockington sent the Nittany Lions into the locker room with thunderous fastbreak slam as the Nittany Lions led Minnesota 36-22 at the end of the first half of play.
Minnesota center Daniel Oturu turned in a double-double with 32 points and 16 rebounds to pace the Golden Gophers.
