Women's Rugby Welcomes Freshmen to Happy Valley

Penn State Women's Rugby is happy to welcome five new freshmen players to their roster for the fall of 2020.

Mia Wicks becomes the newest Nittany Lion from State College, Pennsylvania. Wicks has six years of experience and was a member of the Pennsylvania All-State team. Wicks plans to major in cybersecurity and minor in French.

Grace Nasarenko joins Penn State women's rugby from Kennett Square, Pennsylvania. Over the last four years, Nasarenko played for the Downington Rugby Football Club and the Pennsylvania All-State team. Nasarenko was also awarded the most accomplished and leadership title for her team. Majoring in biology and minoring in kinesiology, Nasarenko is also bilingual, speaking English and German.

Next, Penn State rugby welcomes Tara Forde from Glenmoore, Pennsylvania. Forde has two years of experience, playing for her high school, Bishop Shanahan and the Pennsylvania All- State 15's team. For the last two years, Forde also served as her team's captain. Forde would like to pursue a degree in political science and is looking forward to practicing and playing with the women's team soon.

Merrin McSorely joins the blue and white from Lower Merion, Pennsylvania. With three years of experience, McSorely was a member of the Pennsylvania all-state team. McSorely's inteded major is currently undecided but looks forward to her time on campus.

Finally, Zoë DeMassa is welcomed to the Nittany Lions from Fairfield, Connecticut. Over the last four years, DeMassa played for Connecticut's All-Star team and A-side for Atlantis in the New York 7's; DeMassa was also appointed team captain for her high school. DeMassa intends to major in business major
