2021 CHA Tournament To Be Played In Erie, Pa.

The 2021 College Hockey America Tournament will be played at Erie Insurance Arena in Erie, Pa. March 4-6, hosted by the CHA, Mercyhurst University and the Erie Sports Commission as announced by the league office Wednesday afternoon. 

The tournament will return to a single-elimination format featuring all six CHA teams, with the top two seeds receiving byes to the semifinal round. The tournament winner will receive an automatic bid to the eight-team NCAA tournament field. 

Per the conference's release, first round games will begin on Thursday, March 4th with the #3 seed taking on the #6 seed at 2:00 p.m. followed by seeds #4 and #5 squaring off at 7:30 p.m. Those same game times will utilized for the semifinals on Friday, March 5th. The championship game time is tentatively set for 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 6th.

The CHA league office is working with Erie Insurance Arena and local officials to allow a set number of spectators per game. That number is yet to be determined, but it will be limited to player pass list only and coordinated by each institution.

Penn State currently sits atop the CHA standings with five games left on its schedule, including Wednesday's 5 p.m. tilt against RIT.
