Men's Swimming & Diving Concludes Their Second Day of NCAA's

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Nittany Lions concluded their second day of the 2021 NCAA Championship on Friday evening at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Top Swims

Junior Michael Daly earned a spot in the 400 IM Consolation finals with his preliminary swim of 3:42.47. The Big Ten Champion finished 12th overall with a final time of 3:42.49. His performance earns him All-America Honorable Mention honors. Daly currently owns the school record in the event for his Big Ten performance of 3:41.09. 

Freshman Jake Houck finished his debut NCAA performance in the 100 fly preliminary events, placing 39th with Penn State's third best all-time swim (47.23). On their first day of contest, Houck swam in the 50 free, securing 31st (19.56). 

Top Dives

Sophomore Kevin Sullivan ended his NCAA Championship run this afternoon in the 3-meter, his core of 241.95 was good for 45th overall. On Thursday, he represented the Nittany Lions in the 1-meter, diving for 39th (251.80). 

Nittany Lion Relays

The 200 medley relay team of Gabe Castano, William Roberson, Houck, and Daniel Raisanen swam for 23rd with a final time of 1:25.22. The same competitors previously broke the school record in the event at Big Tens (1:24.86).

The NCAA Championships will wrap up tomorrow evening.
