Nedoroscik Named to U.S. Men's Gymnastics National Team

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – 2020 Penn State graduate Stephen Nedoroscik is a member of the U.S. Men's Gymnastics Team for a fourth time. He was named to the team by the Men's Program Committee on Wednesday.

The Men's Program Committee considered results from last weekend's Winter Cup in addition to submitted petitions. Nedoroscik and seven others join the ten gymnasts who automatically qualified to the team through their performances at the Winter Cup. All 18 gymnasts have been named to the National Team through the 2021 U.S. Championships in June.

Nedoroscik was the runner-up on pommel horse at the Winter Cup but had the highest score of the meet with a 15.6. A fall during his first routine prevented him from getting the first-place finish.

The first U.S. National Team qualification from Nedoroscik came following the 2019 Winter Cup. He then made the team after the 2019 U.S. National Championships and the 2020 Winter Cup.

Nedoroscik, a Worcester, Massachusetts native, has taken a unique path to being one of the best specialists in the country in that the majority of his training always was and even now continues to take place at his college practice facility, the Gene Wettstone Gymnastics Complex.

His hard work and the training help at Penn State led to Nedoroscik winning the 2020 Nissen-Emery Award as the senior gymnast with the best collegiate career. During his time with the Lions, he won two national titles and was a four-time All-American. He posted a personal-best score of 15.9 in a meet at Air Force his senior season.

At the international and national level, Nedoroscik won the 2020 Melbourne World Cup and took silver at the 2019 U.S. Championships.
