Nittany Lions to Compete in Pair of Big Ten Meets

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Penn State track & field team will compete in split-squad action this weekend as the team will travel to meets at Indiana and Rutgers.

Competition in Indiana will take place on Friday, with the Nittany Lions slated to compete in several distance events throughout the evening.

Penn State is scheduled to compete in 25 events at the Rutgers B1G Tri-Meet on Saturday, with competition beginning at 1:15 p.m.

It has been a strong start to the season for Penn State, as several Nittany Lions have posted results that rank inside the program's all-time top ten list.

Last weekend in Jacksonville, Fla., Yasmin Brooks recorded the fifth fastest 100m high-hurdles in Penn State history (13.54), Tyler Merkley posted the fifth best discus throw in program history (210-0 (64.01) and Luke Knipe (16-9.25 (5.11) and Hailey Zurich (13-1.5 (4.00) both recorded the fifth best pole vault results in their respective sports.
