Men’s Golf’s Olsakovsky Named Big Ten Sportsmanship Award Recipient for Penn State

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Senior men's golf student-athlete Lou Olsakovsky was named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award recipient for Penn State as announced by the conference office Wednesday. The student-athletes selected for this award have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior who are in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.

From Upper St. Clair, Pennsylvania, Olsakovsky was the Nittany Lions' top finisher at two events in spring 2021, tying for ninth in the Kepler Intercollegiate and sharing honors at the Big Ten Championships. He recorded three of Penn State's best single-round scores in spring 2021, including the team's low round on the final day of the Kepler Intercollegiate to help the Nittany Lions to a second-place finish at that tournament.

Olsakovsky was recognized as a Golf Coaches Association of America All-America Scholar and earned a spot on the Academic All-Big Ten team following the 2019-20 season. An economics major, Olsakovsky is expected to receive his undergraduate degree at Penn State's spring commencement ceremony.
