UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State track & field team is set to host Big Ten foe Maryland at the Jim Thorpe Invite at Penn State on Friday.
The meet will be the team's only home contest this outdoor season and will be the final meet of the Nittany Lions' regular season schedule.
Penn State is coming off a strong weekend at the Jesse Owens Invite at Ohio State that saw eight Nittany Lions record performances that ranked on the program's all-time top ten list.
Among those top performances were three top five performances, as Tyler Merkley's 66.79m hammer throw ranks second in program history, Hailey Zurich's 4.08m pole vault ranks third in program history and Gianna Rao's 60.24m hammer throw ranks third on the list.
Friday's meet is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. with throwing and jumping events, with track events scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
