3 Men’s Swimmers competing at Junior Pan American Games

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Three Penn State men's swimmers will compete in the first Junior Pan American Games to be held Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 through Sunday, Dec. 5, 2021 in Cali Columbia.
 
Freshmen Victor Baganha and Eduardo Moraes will represent Brazil while senior Carlos Vasquez will represent Honduras.

"It is a great honor to represent my country in a such big event," said Baganha. "I look forward to doing my best to represent my family, Penn State, and Brasil as best as I can!"
 
At the Junior Pan America more than 3,500 athletes between the ages of 14 and 22 will compete in 27 sports with qualification for the Santiago 2023 Pan American Games.
 
This will be the first Junior Pan American Games, which was born out of the Pan American Games that have been held every four years since 1957. Cali, Columbia hosted the sixth version of them in 1971.
 
On the schedule are 321 events in 28 sports with 41 member nations expected to compete.
