FRISCO, Texas – Three Penn State men's gymnasts advanced to the second day of competition with their performances at the Winter Cup on Friday. Michael Jaroh, Michael Artlip and Matt Cormier all three made the cut and will wrap up the all-around competition on Sunday at 6:30 p.m.

Jaroh put together a solid first day of competition, coming in at 14th with a score of 78.5. His 13.65 was the second-highest score of the day. He was sixth on parallel bars with a score of 14.1 and eighth on rings with a score of 13.5.

Artlip's top performance of the day was on rings, where he was 14th with a score of 13.05. He was 27th all-around. Cormier was 29th all-around, bolstered by seventh-place showing on rings with a score of 13.5.

"Our guys performed well considering we got here late and didn't get a chance to really prepare," Penn State head coach Randy Jepson said. "Our guys are in the mix, especially Jaroh. He has to do a really good job and knock it out of here on Sunday."
