17 Penn State Field Hockey Players Earn NFHCA National All-Academic Honors

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Seventeen members of head coach Char Morett-Curtiss' Penn State Nittany Lion field hockey team have earned National All-Academic recognition. The honor is given by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) each year and students must have a 3.30 GPA through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.
 
Senior Emma Spisak (Boiling Springs, Pa.) earned the honor for the fourth time. She is joined on the team by sophomore Gery Schnarrs (Camp Hill, Pa.) who earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for her first semester as a Nittany Lion.
 
Joining Spisak and Schnarrs are 15 other Penn Staters: Junior Brie Barraco (Allentown, Pa.), senior Bree Bednarski (Wyoming, Pa.), sophomore Lauren Delgado (East Earl, Pa.), sophomore Carly Gannon (Havertown, Pa.), sophomore Sophia Gladieux (Boyertown, Pa.), freshman Anouk Knuvers ('s-Hertogenbosch, The Netherlands), redshirt freshman Julia Lamb (Phoenixville, Pa.), sophomore Kelsey Love (State College, Pa.), redshirt freshman Caroline Myers (Hartland, Wis.), junior Madison Reese (Coopersburg, Pa.), senior Meghan Reese (Coopersburg, Pa.), freshman Aubrey Semler (Orefield, Pa.), senior Anna Simon (Hanau, Germany), junior Elena Vos (Grave, The Netherlands) and senior Grace Wallis (Blue Bell, Pa.).
 
Morett-Curtiss' team has had 15 or more National All-Academic honorees in each of the past five seasons and ten or more since 2005.
 
The Nittany Lions ended the season with a 14-6 overall record, placed second in the Big Ten regular season with a 6-2 mark, advanced to the 2021Big Ten Tournament semifinals and earned a spot in the 2021 NCAA Championship Tournament.
