UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 67 Penn State women's tennis team (5-6) will face off against the East Carolina Pirates (2-8) on Friday at 1 p.m. ET, before heading to Wilmington, N.C. to take on the UNCW Seahawks (6-2) at 2:30 ET on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
The Nittany Lions split their doubleheader on Sunday falling to Penn 4-0 before besting Bucknell 6-1.
Gabby O'Gorman and Alexandra Nielsen collected the lone doubles win against Penn in a 6-4 victory over Gavriella Smith and Amanda Chan.
Penn State went on to defeat the Bucknell Bison, securing the doubles point and earning wins on five courts. The Nittany Lions evened their home record at two.
SCOUTING THE PIRATES
East Carolina enters this Friday's matchup after being swept 4-0 by Big Ten opponent Maryland. The Pirates currently hold a 2-8 record and a six-game losing streak.
This contest marks the first time in program history that the East Carolina Pirates and the Penn State Nittany Lions will face off in a dual match.
PREVIEWING THE SEAHAWKS
UNCW heads into this weekend with a 6-2 record. The Seahawks are coming off a 7-0 sweep over the Georgetown Bulldogs on neutral territory. They will take on UNC Asheville at home on Friday, before gearing up to host the Nittany Lions on Saturday.
This contest marks the first time in program history that the UNCW Seahawks and the Penn State Nittany Lions will face off in a dual match.
