Penn State Football Adds Defensive End Chop Robinson

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Football has announced the addition of defensive end Chop Robinson. Robinson comes to Penn State after spending the previous season at the University of Maryland.

Awards: Named an ESPN Midseason True Freshman All-American.

Season: Played in all 13 games, making one start...Totaled 19 tackles (12 solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and two sacks.

at Illinois (9/17): Tallied three tackles (1 solo). Kent State (9/25): Posted four tackles (3 solo)…Added his first career sack and totaled 1.5 tackles for loss. Iowa (10/1): Made two solo stops. at Ohio State (10/9): Made a solo tackle. at Minnesota (10/23): Assisted on a tackle. Indiana (10/30): Made first career start. at Michigan State (11/13): Recorded three tackles (2 solo). Michigan (11/20): Tallied two solo stops. vs. Virginia Tech (12/29): Made three tackles (2 solo)…Added a solo sack.

HIGH SCHOOL

Played for head coach John Kelley at Quince Orchard High School…Helped lead Quince Orchard to a combined record of 25-2 in 2018 and 2019…Team reached the state semifinals in 2019, posting a 12-1 record…The Cougars had a stretch of 22-straight wins from 2018 to 2019…Quince Orchard won a state title in 2018, picking up a 40-33 victory over North Point to with the 4A title and going 13-1 overall…Was an Under Armour All-American and a 2019 All-Met selection…Finished career breaking the school sack record…Totaled 85 tackles (61 solo),14 sacks, three forced fumbles and one interception during junior campaign…Was a consensus four-star recruit by On3, 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN…Was the top-ranked player in the state of Maryland according to ESPN…Ranked the 35th prospect nationally by ESPN.
