UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The College Gymnastics Association released its 2022 National Academic Team Champions and All-America Scholar Athletes with Penn State as an honorable mention and five Nittany Lions as Scholar-Athletes.
The CGA honored 97 individual gymnasts as 2022 First Team All-America Scholar-Athletes for attaining a 3.5 GPA or higher.
Junior Michael Artlip, sophomore Derek Schlagenhauf, senior Nate Warren and 2022 graduates Eric Lung and Nick Mock all made First Team.
Artlip was one of only four gymnasts to achieve a perfect 4.0 GPA. Lung and Warren both had between a 3.899-3.80 grade point average. Nick Mock landed in the 3.788-3.70 range and Schlagenhauf was in the 3.599-3.50 range.
