UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State Swimming & Diving announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022-23 season. The Nittany Lions compete in 16 meets including an intrasquad Blue/White matchup, the NC State Invite and the B1G Championships.
"We are extremely excited for the challenging list of competitions we have for this season!" Head Coach Tim Murphy said.
Preseason:
Penn State faces off against each other in its annual Blue/White Meet on September 16 to begin the 2022-23 season at home in McCoy Natatorium. Friends and family are invited to attend the pre-season meet, starting at 4 p.m.
Regular Season:
On Saturday, October 8, the Nittany Lions launch their regular season by traveling to Annapolis where they square off against both Navy and Boston College at 11 a.m.
The teams remain on the road two weeks later as they head to Pittsburgh to face Pitt and Notre Dame. The two-day meet begins Friday, October 21 at 5 p.m. and competition continues Saturday at 11 a.m.
The Nittany Lions host West Virginia November 4-5 for their first home meet of the year. The women face the Mountaineers at 5 p.m. on Friday with the men the following day at 11 a.m.
Penn State heads back on the road to Greensboro, N.C. for the NC State Invitational. Both the men and women compete in the three-day event from Thursday, November 17-Saturday, November 19.
Following winter training, the swimmers welcome Army to University Park on Friday, January 13 at 4 p.m. while the divers travel to Buffalo.
In the second of four consecutive meet-weekends, the Nittany Lions host Virginia Tech for Senior Day at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 21.
The following weekend, the team heads to Villanova Friday, January 27 at 5 p.m.
Returning to McCoy the next weekend, February 3-5, the Nittany Lions host the Penn State Invite. The three-day meet begins Friday at 5 p.m. and resumes on Saturday and Sunday at 10 a.m.
Post Season:
The Women's and Men's Big Ten Championships are hosted by Michigan this season. The women go first from Wednesday, February 15-Saturday, February 18. The men's team go the following week, Wednesday, February 22-Saturday, February 25.
Nittany Lion divers go to West Virginia to compete at NCAA Diving Zones from Monday, March 6-Wednesday, March 8.
The women's NCAA Championships are hosted by Minnesota from Wednesday, March 15-Saturday, March 18. The men's are at Tennesse from Wednesday, March 22 to Saturday, March 25.
